Ahead of the World War Two (WWII) victory celebrations on May 9, Moldovan WWII veterans are due to be awarded with CIS memory medals, with a relevant decree signed by acting President Mikhai Gimpu on Tuesday. Separately, all the veterans, including those collaborating with Nazi Germany, will get a cross-shaped memory medal in a move that was earlier initiated by the Moldovan MPs, who have repeatedly urged an early fence-mending between the WWII veterans.
