Russian medics helped 40 Chile quake victims

Russian medics in Chile have examined more than 40 quake victims and carried out 18 surgical operations since the Russian emergency mobile hospital was unfolded in Santiago on March 13. Russian psychologists have received 38 people. Chile has been hit by a series of earthquakes since late February. The worst of them, 8.8 in magnitude, struck on February 27, killing about 500 people and leaving one million homeless. Over 200 earth tremors have been registered. Total damages are estimated at $30 billion.
