The activity of an extremist religious group, Tablighi Jamaat, has been curbed in southern Siberia. More than 20 Tablighi Jamaat activists, among them foreigners who violated the migration law, have been arrested, a source in the Russian Federal Security Service told reporters on Tuesday. A transnational religious movement, Tablighi Jamaat, has been banned in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and other countries over its suspected connections to terrorism and Al Qaeda.
