Russian rock band U-Peter begins the final stage of its tour marking the 25th anniversary of cult Russian rock band Nautilus Pompilius.  During the tour which lasted for more than a year U-Peter played in many cities of Russia and the CIS. Now the band is playing final concerts in the US and Canada and it turns out that the audience in different countries still sing along with the legendary rockers the songs by Nautilus despite the fact that Nautilus does not exist.

U-Peter is the new band of Vyacheslav Butusov, ex-leader and founder of Nautilus. No matter how the band members call themselves now the audience takes them as the inheritors of the legendary band which was founded 25 years ago in the city of Yekaterinburg (then it was Sverdlovsk) in the Urals. Emerging during the Perestroika era Nautilus became its musical symbol. The band's songs reflected the protests of the young generation against Soviet rules and civil hypocrisy. And many things the band was singing about at that time are still relevant nowadays.

However Butusov's attitude towards his old songs is quite controversial. "Every time period has its own grotesque" he says admitting that in those days shocking the audience was often the main thing. The rockers wanted rather to inspire ire than sympathy. Today Butusov says that he is very careful with his lyrics. He says that he has no right to use words lightly. The rocker who influenced the minds of a whole generation now has become a philosopher. And even when he finishes every concert with Nautilus legendary song called "Good Bye, America" he says that Americans are our spiritual brothers. Generally speaking the singer hopes that sooner of later people who live on different continents will realize that in the great scheme of things we are all relatives.
