Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov hopes that experts will inform him on the progress in Russia-US talks on a new START treaty before his meeting with the US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, in Moscow on March 18. Without giving any details, Mr. Lavrov said the sides are already very close to signing the deal but the exact date has not been set so far. “It will take some time. If the delegations follow instructions of the Presidents Medvedev and Obama, the talks on the START-II may be over in early April. But it is up to the Presidents to decide on when and where the treaty should be signed”, Lavrov said.
