British ambassador to Georgia condemns Imedi fake report

The British Ambassador to Georgia, Denis Keefe, is outraged over a bogus news report on a Russian invasion of Georgia shown by the Imedi TV company on 13 March. The diplomat said neither he nor the British government have something to do with the scandalous footage. Addressing the journalists in Tbilisi on Tuesday, Mr. Keefe said the hoax would certainly harm Georgia’s image on the world stage. The fake report, which said that Russian tanks had invaded Tbilisi and Saakashvili was dead, caused panic among the people. Hundreds of opposition supporters took to the streets to voice their indignation about the hoax.
