France’s national railways agency posted a false report on its website saying that the 1234 fast train had exploded with 102 dead and 380 injured. The victims were allegedly receiving psychological and medical help. The information was on the website’s main page for several minutes just enough to trigger a mass panic. Later the agency’s spokesperson made official apologies saying that the information was uploaded by mistake and was initially a report for a rescue exercise stored in the agency’s database.
