CSTO, UN to clinch cooperation agreement

At a meeting in Moscow on Thursday, the Collective Security Treaty Organization is to sign a cooperation paper with the United Nations. According to the CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Brodiuzha, this speaks of a growing global role of his post-Soviet collective defence bloc. In its present shape and form, the CSTO has been around since 1993. It brings this country together with Belarus, Armenia and four nations in former Soviet Central Asia – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan,
