Russian biathletes win gold, silver and bronze at the Paralympiad

Russian biathletes won all the three first places in a 12.5 km race for sportsmen with aberration of the locomotor system who perform in the sitting position at the Paralympic Games in Whistler, Canada this Wednesday. The first came Irek Zaripov with the result of 42 minutes 22.4 seconds. The second is Vladimir Kiselyov and the third – Roman Petushkov. For Zaripov, it is already the third gold at this Paralympiad. The first two ones were won by him in 2.4 km biathlon pursuit race and in a 15 km ski race. In a 10 km race for women, first came Russian Mariya Ivleva with the result of 38 minutes 46.6 seconds, second – Alyona Yurkovska from Ukraine, and third – Andrea Eskau from Germany. Thus, Russia is leading in this Paralympiad with 8 gold, 7 silver and 4 bronze medals. The second is Ukraine with 2 golds, 3 silvers and 3 bronzes.
