A dump truck loaded with coal collided with a passenger train at a railway crossing in Sakhalin Island (Russian Far East) this Wednesday. The truck’s driver violated the traffic rules and drove to the railway crossing in front of an approaching train, ignoring the signalization. Fortunately, the train driver and his aid were quick enough to stop the train, and nobody suffered. But the train’s cabin and driving desk were damaged. According to estimations, their repair will cost 450 thousand rubles (an equivalent of $ 15.4 thousand). The truck driver and his car didn’t suffer.
