Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan have reached an agreement of principle on distributing duties within the Customs Union. A statement to that effect came from the Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov at a plenary meeting of Parliament in Astana, Interfax reports. He said that this issue will be submitted for consideration by the three countries’ heads of state on May 21st in Moscow. Kazakhstan claims 7.36 per cent of the customs duties, given that the original agreement provided for Russia’s getting 93 per cent and Belarus and Kazakhstan 3.5 per cent each.
