Russia to open children's helpline

Russia is to open an emergency telephone help service for children. The official in charge is the Kremlin Ombudsman for underage citizens Pavel Astakhov. He will have the support of the Russian Emergencies Ministry. Head of the National Child Support Foundation Marina Gordeyeva also told the media Friday that the offences against minors shot up four times over the past decade and call for a national crusade against them.
