Speaking to reporters in the Russian town of Taganrog on Thursday, the head of the Federal Migration Service said that 20,000 Russian expats have returned to their motherland in the past two years. Konstantin Romodanovsky explained that 19 Russian regions are currently taking part in a special program to lure more Russian nationals abroad into returning to Russia, where, Romodanovsky said, all the former expats will make themselves at home again.
