| Apr 24, 2010 09:51 Moscow Time |
Russian artworks fetched almost $5 million at a spring auction at Christie's in New York, with only half of the 250 items sold. One of the auction’s top lots was the 1933 Visit Lama canvas by Alexander Yakovlev depicting a Buddhist monk, accompanied by two Mongols, which fetched $170,500. A similar sum was paid for a gilded silver Faberge desk clock crafted circa 1890.
