Russia’s Rossiya nuclear ice-breaker will reach the North Pole 37 drifting research station within a day, the St.Petersburg Arctic Research Center reports. The vessel is to cover 170 miles. The station was launched in September 2009 for meteorological, oceanographic and hydrographic research. People and equipment will be taken on board the icebreaker.
