Russia’s Rossiya nuclear-powered icebreaker has reached the North Pole-37 drifting research station. A 50-member rescue crew will work round the clock dismantling the station’s equipment and loading it on board. The ice floe-based North Pole expedition has been out in the Arctic Ocean since September, doing research, and was initially supposed to stay on for a few more months but was forced to evacuate ahead of schedule due to large cracks in the ice.
