Guests of a Japanese restaurant in a Sydney suburb will be fined for eating little. The owner warns he will put the guests who fail to eat up the food ordered on his “black list”.

By contrast, those who will swallow up everything will get a 30% discount, says the restaurant-keeper Yukako Ichikawa.

The restaurant menu stipulates that mandatory for consumption is everything on the plate, but lemon peel, pickled ginger and wasabi. A special mention is made of the fact that vegetables on the plate border are not decorative components.
