Russia has lifted restrictions on the import of nuts and dried fruit from Tajikistan. Russia’s Chief Sanitary Inspector Gennady Onishchenko has signed a decree to allow the sale of earlier confiscated food stuffs.

The ban followed an outbreak of polio in Tajikistan. By now the situation has come to normal and no more cases of polio have been reported since May 29th.
