The Russian State Company Zarubezhneft has opened its first representative office in Cuba. The consultant of the Cuban Ministry of Basic Industries Manuel Marrero attended the opening ceremony, and voiced hope that the two countries’ cooperation in the oil business would help boost oil production in the Caribbean state.

The fifth long-term contract has specifically been drawn up to develop the Boca de Jaruco oil field. The contract provides for the use of Russia’s latest technology to boost the oil production rate at oilfields.
