Medvedev praises Vietnam for respecting Russian culture

“The Russian language is spoken by many people in Vietnam.

We appreciate a respectful attitude demonstrated by your nation towards Russian culture”, President Dmitry Medvedev said during his talks with the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nong Duc Manh in Moscow Friday.

Mr. Medvedev decorated Mr. Duc Manh with the Pushkin Medal for ‘promoting the Russian language and culture in Vietnam’.

According to the Russian leader, the two countries can boast many decades of friendship in cooperation in a variety of spheres.

“We hope the Days of Russian culture in Vietnam scheduled later this year will help young people in both countries to know each other better”, Mr. Medvedev said.

After the ceremony, the two leaders discussed other issues of bilateral cooperation.
