"The 20" should not deal with politics - Churkin

“The 20” should not discuss political issues, not to compete with the UN Security Council, Russia’s permanent representative in the UN Vitaly Churkin declared.

He believes that “The 20” should concentrate on economic and financial problems.

In Churkin’s opinion, it is important for the UN and “The 20”  to demarcate their work.

At present it is happening with the UN Secretary General participating in the meetings of “The 20”, the diplomat noted.

In Churkin’s opinion, “the forthcoming Millenium Development summit on the 20th to the 22nd of September can serve the cause of coordinating the work of these organizations”.
