No Russians died in Duisburg stampede

Accoridng to the Russian Consulate General in Bonn, no Russian nationals died in the stampede that broke out during the Love Parade music festival in Duisburg on Saturday.  

The tragedy claimed the lives of 19 people, including 11 women. The death toll comprises Germans, and also fans of the popular electronic dance music festival from Australia, Bosnia, China, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands.  

342 people are said to have received injuries of varying severity.  

The Love Parade organizer since 1989 Rainer Schaller has said the event shall never be held again out of respect for the victims, the families and friends of those who died.
