The British Prime Minister has turned down the return of the legendary Kohinoor diamond to India, the NDTV news channel reported on Thursday.
It quoted David Cameron as saying that if such proposals were agreed, it would lead to empty rooms in British Museums.
The issue was raised by British MP of Indian origin Keith Vaz late last week, NDTV said, recalling that a 105 carat diamond, Koninoor became part of the British Crown Jewels in 1877, when Queen Victoria was proclaimed Empress of India.
