Somali militants are threatening death to African Union peacekeepers in the region.
On Tuesday, the African Union summit decided to increase its Somalia contingent up to 10,000.
Somalia's interim government hopes the peacekeepers will confront Islamist insurgents which control the south of the country and will stabilize the situation in the region.
Now the insurgents are resisted by 6,000 soldiers from Uganda and Burundi.
