Archaeologists working on the island of Ithaca in the Ionian Sea have discovered a palace that may have belonged to the legendary king Odysseus, hero of the Trojan War.

We found the ruins of a three-level palace with a staircase carved into the rock, Greek archaeologist Tanasis Papadopulos said, adding that among other discoveries is a well dating back to the 13th century B.C. - the time when the Trojan War may have taken place.

The expert says the palace completely corresponds with the description mentioned in Homer’s Odyssey.
