Medvedev shows interest in U2 leader’s ideas

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and leader of the Irish U2 band Bono have met to discuss issues concerning the development of African countries, combating infectious diseases and financial statements of large corporations.

The two met for tea at Medvedev’s holiday villa, Bocharov Ruchei, outside the Black Sea resort of Sochi.

Bono expressed his profound respect for Russian soldiers, who saved the world from Nazism at the expense of their lives. 

Dmitry Medvedev said that at the next G20 summit, he will touch upon his meeting with the 40-year-old U2 leader, who is scheduled to give a concert in Moscow on Wednesday, August 25th.
