Speaking at a meeting with foreign students in Tbilisi, Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili said he sees the country’s Minister of Education Dmitry Shashkin, a Russian by nationality, as his possible successor.

“With the present situation in Georgia, it is not ruled out that a non-Georgian may become President,” Mr. Saakashvili said.
