The WWII French ace Marcel Albert has been laid to rest in Chipley, Florida. He died in a retirement house last Monday at 92. .
In November 1942, Albert arrived in the Soviet Union to battle the Nazis as a pilot of the Normandie-Niemen fighter squadron. Beginning with June 1943, he scored 23 kills. Albert earned high honours from France and was also Hero of the Soviet Union.
