200 flights cancelled on Okinawa over typhoon

Japan has cancelled some 200 flights from the airport of its southern Okinawa Island, hit by the tropical storm Kompasu. According to the national meteorologist agency, four people were injured and some 32,000 houses were left without electricity.

The average wind speed at the typhoon’s center is above 35 meters per second, the blasts amount to 65 meters per second. The wave height may reach up to eight meters, meteorologists warn.
