A Russian rocket of the heavy class "Proton-M” with three satellites for the Glonass-M system, has been successfully launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

"The launch of the vehicle took place in normal mode." Interfax quotes a Russian Space Forces representative as saying. Three spacecraft of the "Glonass-M" series will be placed in orbit as part of the Russian global satellite navigation system “GLONASS”.

Currently the system consists of 23 satellites, two of which are in orbital reserve. On November 30th three more satellites are to be added.
