Heat and drought have caused the Amazon River in Peru to fall to its lowest level on record - 106 meters above sea level.

In view of this, people living in distant areas have to wait longer for the arrival of vital food supplies.

Meteorologists say the Amazon River level may fall 20 centimeters more this month.
