The Russian film “Ashberry Waltz” directed by Alyona Semyonova and Alexander Smirnov has won a special award at the international cinema festival in Varna, Bulgaria.
Fifty-five films competed for the Golden Aphrodite Grand-Prix that went to the Iranian moviemaker Panahbarhoda Rezai and his film “The Light in the Fog”.
Twelve Russian films screened in two separate shows: one was devoted to the 150th birth anniversary of writer and dramatist Anton Chekhov, and the other, titled “The Price of Peace”, commemorated the 65th anniversary of the end of World War II.
