Charity ice hockey match big hit in Moscow

Sunday’s charity ice hockey match in Moscow has raised 14 million rubles which will be allocated to shore up Russian children affected by the wildfires, organizers said.

A host of hockey icons, not least Alexander Ovechkin, Ilya Kovalchuk , Dominik Gashek , Vyacheslav Fetisov and Alexei Kasatonov, took part in the event.

Also participating were an array of high-level Russian officials, including Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev, Emergencies Minister Sergei Shoigu, Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin and presidential aide Arkady Dvorkovich.
