Kokoity thanks Russian investigators for cooperation

South Ossetian President Eduard Kokoity has thanked the Investigative Committee with the Russian Prosecutor-General’s Office for its opening a probe into facts of genocide against civilians during Tbilisi’s aggression on South Ossetia in August 2008.

In a telegram on Tuesday, Kokoity specifically praised efforts by Investigative Committee chief Alexander Bastrykin to initiate the investigation, which Kokoity said contributed considerably to brining the Saakashvili regime to trial.
