Georgia has tabled a United Nations resolution to sanction the return of ethnic Georgian refugees to what are now the sovereign states of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

Russia has raised objections, warning of a possible turn for the worse in the South Caucasus.

It points out that all issues including refugees can be directly discussed between the sides at the Geneva conference on South Caucasus problems.
