US invited to dominoes championship in Abkhazia

A dominoes championship in Abkhazia in 2011 will be held with the participation of representatives from the United States, even though Washington declined to acknowledge the republic’s independence.

Speaking at a news conference in Sukhumi, the President of the American Dominoes Federation Manuel Oquendo said politics and sports stand separately and friendship and communication come first.

Mr.Oquendo is visiting Abkhazia together with the Presidents of the International Dominoes Federation and the Federation of Dominoes of Venezuela Lucas Guittard and Efrain Velazquez to examine the conditions for holding the championship.
