NATO is due to open its permanent mission in Tbilisi in September this year, Chairman of the Georgian Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee Akakii Minashvili said, referring to this as another step to speed up the process of Georgia’s integration into NATO.

Saakashvili’s military aggression against South Ossetia and Abkhazia in August 2008 halted the country’s further rapprochement with the Alliance.
