Yaroslavl forum is Russian Davos - former NATO Secretary General

The former NATO Secretary General Lord George Robertson called the World Political Forum, recently opened in Yaroslavl, a “Russian Davos”.

Lord Robertson called on the participants to start lively discussions. “One should not be afraid of listening, giving reasons, arguing and finding the truth in argument”, he said.

Lord Robertson also stressed that “this meeting should give Russia a new chance to demonstrate its positive role in the world”.

Over 500 statesmen and politicians, experts and political scientists from 35 countries have come to the meeting.

This forum and the first one last year were supported by President Dmitry Medvedev.
