Israeli forces have begun to dismantle the Karni crossing on the Gaza border used as a cargo terminal to exchange goods with the blockaded region.

Israel says that it fears terrorist activity in the area.

In January, 2005 six people died and five were injured in the Karni attack.

Last year, Israel shut three border crossings with Gaza having left only Kerem Shalom near Egyptian border.
