The Presidents of Russia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Dmitry Medvedev and Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan have called for an immediate end to violence in Syria.
In a telephone conversation, they emphasized the importance of a comprehensive dialogue with the participation of all parties involved in the conflict.
The presidents pointed out that ‘interference from abroad, outside attempts at defining the legitimacy of any country’s leadership run counter to the norms of the international law and are fraught with regional and global destabilization.” In this connection, they stressed the importance of respecting Syria’s sovereignty.
The leaders of Russia and the UAE have agreed to further coordinate efforts at the settlement of the Syrian crisis, reads the Kremlin press-service message circulated on Thursday.
