Japan is temporarily closing the embassy in Damascus due to escalating violence in Syria.
"We took the decision to temporarily close the Embassy in Syria because the security situation in the country is getting worse, particularly in Damascus", the ministry’s statement read said Wednesday.
"Earlier this month diplomatic mission was closing and the personnel will be moved to the Japanese Embassy building in the neighboring Jordan, - the Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified.
