Differences between Russia and the US over Iran should not be exaggerated, Russia’s deputy foreign minister Sergei Ryabkov said following a conference on the Iranian nuclear issue in Washington.
Organized by the European Institute, the conference marked the first step towards preparing the six-party talks in Istanbul on April 14.
Mr. Ryabkov said he was satisfied to see that both Russia and the US expect a new round of talks to bring positive results.
He added that Moscow also expects Iran to show a constructive approach in the talks.
A EU`s representative said on Monday that during the talks in Istanbul the West would unveil a new approach to the Iranian nuclear issue.
Thus, the West no longer objects to Iran's uranium enrichment activities providing that uranium is not enriched by more than 20%.
