At least 36 people are known to have died and over 100 injured in more than 20 blasts that ripped though Baghdad and other Iraqi cities on Thursday.
Three car bombs blew up in the capital alone, along with two roadside bombs. In a separate development, a suicide bomber rammed his explosives-laden car against a local police station. The overall death toll in Baghdad stands at 16 with 61 people wounded.
Two car bombs were detonated in the northern city of Kirkuk, along with three roadside bombs. All attacks targeted army and police patrols. Similar attacks have been reported also in Baqubah, Samarra, Dibis and Taji.
