Winners of the international Benois de la danse ballet award have been announced in Moscow.
Lar Lubovitch of the US was named the best choreographer.
The Hamburg Ballet prima Alina Cojocaru received the best ballerina title for her role in John Neumeier`s Liliom to music by Michel Legrand, who was in his turn awarded as the best composer.
Liliom also earned the best dancer prize to Carsten Jung.
Mathias Heymann of the Paris Opera was named the best male dancer.
Outstanding French choreographer Pierre Lacotte was awarded in the Life in Art category for his contribution to the art of ballet.
The Benois de la danse award was established in 1991.
