Russia has joined the Hague Convention on the Protection of Children’s Interests in International Families.
The corresponding bill, which regulates child disputes between parents of different nationalities, was ratified by the upper house of the Russian parliament – the Federation Council – on Wednesday.
Russia’s decision to join the Hague Convention followed a raft of child custody battles between parents who live in different countries.
The bill on the ratification has been submitted to the president.
