Dmitry Shaposhnikov, CEO of the “Hockey Legends” team told R-Sport that Krutov was in intensive care at a Moscow hospital and that his condition was poor.
Vladimir Krutov is a double Olympic Champion. Together with Igor Larionov, Sergei Makarov, Vyacheslav Fetisov and Alexei Kasatonov, he comprised the so-called Russian Five, also known as Larionov’s Five.
The Russian Five is considered to be one of the best hockey units in the history of ice hockey.
Krutov worked as CSKA Moscow assistant coach from 1995 to 2000 and head coach in 2000-2001 season. In recent years, Krutov played in veterans' team, “Hockey Legends.”
