President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on presenting 2011 National Awards to the best representatives of Russian science and the arts.
The list of recipients features the prominent geologist Felix Mitrofanov for the discovery of platinum and palladium deposits on the Kola Peninsula, medical researchers Rem Petrov and Rakhim Khaitov for their study of the human immune system, and the world famous violinist and conductor Vladimir Spivakov.
