"The focus of attention... will be on the situation in the Middle East and North Africa, with the emphasis on the current transformation processes taking place in the Arab world and Syria," new agencies quoted a foreign ministry official as saying.
Consultations before new round of negotiations with Iran
The Sextet (five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) will hold consultations in Strasbourg, France, on June 11-12, to prepare for the next round of negotiations with Iran scheduled for June 18-19 in Moscow, the U.S. Department of State said on Sunday.
It confirmed two tracks of the U.S. policy on Iran – diplomatic negotiations and sanctions, which, in the opinion of the United Sates, would prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
The previous two rounds of the negotiations were held in Istanbul on April 14 and in Baghdad on May 23-24. Iran put forward its proposals in reply to the Sextet ideas. The Sextet evaluated the talks, which resumed after a long pause, as constructive and useful.
