The monument will be unveilerd on June 25, when Russia’s President Vladimir Putin will be visiting Israel.
Besides Mr. Putin, Israel’s President Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be present at the opening ceremony.
The monument, situated in the city of Netanya on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea, presents a corridor which leads to a white marble platform overlooking the sea.
The corridor’s walls are decorated with bas-reliefs depicting events of the war, and the platform has two wings, which symbolize Nike, the Greek goddess of victory.
