Ships from 13 countries, including the United States, France, Denmark, Poland, Lithuania and Russia, drilled together on Thursday during the active phase of the Baltops-2012 international naval exercises.
The aim of the drill is to rehearse search-and-rescue, counterterrorist and anti-piracy operations at sea.
Taking part are more than 20 warships, two submarines and nearly 1,500 servicemen. Russia is represented by the large amphibious assault landing ship Kaliningrad.
